……When the funeral director asked us to bring clothes for Jeanine’s burial, I insisted we include her new running shoes. I intend to keep our date at the Chicago Marathon and I want her to be ready to run. On October 11th, I will join 45,000 runners in Grant Park for the start of the marathon. Jeanine will be with me.
The loss of my wife, best friend, and hero will never heal. I hope her suffering and mine might help find a cure for the disease that took her life. To that end, I joined forces with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I will run the Chicago Marathon in Jeanine’s honor and will use the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for a cure. Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Jeanine may be made online through my Chicago Marathon campaign site here.

I too am running for cystic fibrosis research, on behalf of my daughter. I’m happy to hear that you’re keeping your wife’s memory alive. Keep it up and let me know if you need anything!
